Malappuram is the area lying between the great Arabian sea and Nilgiri hills. Malappuram boosts of High range forests and many wonderful agricultural midlands. There is abundance of coconut plantations in low land areas of Malappuram, the place has around 70km of seashore area. The famous rivers of Malappuram are Chaliyar, Bharatapuzha and Kadalundi. Kottakkal
The famous known Kottakkal Aryavaidyasala is located here, it’s an Ayurveda College. People all around the world come here to study ayurveda. It’s the only Indian Ayurvedic Mental Hospital recognized in India. There is famous NavaMukunda Temple located at Tirunavaya, mostly visited by pilgrimage people and locales too.
Nilambur
Nilambur is the famous known place for the best Teak and Bamboo plantations. One of the world ancient teak plantations on Kanoli Plot is situated here.
Palur
Palur is famous for its historical importance; it has well known Tippu's fort walls' which has gained attention from people across the globe.
Ponnani
Ponnani is the only port located in Malappuram district. Ponnani is the main fishing centre of the area. The place known as Tenjipalam is the main centre of Calicut University.
'Thirunavaya'
Thirunavaya is the place of wonderful festival, long ago Kerala Kings came up with the festival 'Mamamkam' which is celebrated with full zest on the banks of river Bhatapuzha.
Tirur
Tirur is the place of cultural importance the great Mahakavi Thunchen Ezhuthachan lived here during 16th century. It is one of the memorable incidence about this place.
